1873 Alumni Speaker Series featuring LTC Rebecca Wood D’Angelo ‘02

Lieutenant Colonel Rebecca D’Angelo was born in Atlanta, GA and raised in Stone Mountain, GA. She graduated from North Georgia College & State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. She commissioned as a Quartermaster Officer and her first assignment was the Assistant S3 of the 530th Supply & Services Battalion at Ft. Bragg, NC.

In 2005, she deployed to Iraq for OIF III as the Executive Officer, HHC 2d Corps Material Management Center, Ft Bragg, NC. Upon returning from Iraq, she was promoted to Captain and in 2006 assumed command of HHC, 330th Movement Control Battalion, 507th Corps Support Group, Ft. Bragg, NC. She deployed again in support of OIF 07-09 as the Chief of Operations, 507th Corps Support Group. Upon returning from Iraq, LTC D’Angelo attended Advanced Civil Schooling at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, graduating in 2010 with a Master’s in Public Administration. She then attended the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course at Fort Lee, VA, after which she assumed a second command of the El Paso Recruiting Company, Phoenix Recruiting Battalion, El Paso, TX.

After completing 27 months in her second command, she attended Intermediate Level Education (ILE) at Ft. Gordon, GA. She was then assigned to US Army Central (USARCENT) at Shaw Air Force Base, SC where she served 10 months as a CLII/VII commodity manager before becoming a G4 Plans Officer in 2014 where she served 15 months as the lead Sustainment planner for Operation Inherent Resolve. From 2015-2017 LTC D’Angelo served as the Executive Officer for the 10th Transportation Battalion (Terminal), 7th TBX, Ft. Eustis, VA.  She then served as the G4 for Task Force Tank, 1st Armored Division, Ft. Bliss, TX from 2017-2018. In 2019, after completing a six month strategic fellowship with the newly formed Army Futures Command, LTC D’Angelo was selected to serve as the Executive Officer to MG Maria Gervais, Director of the Synthetic Training Environment Cross Functional Team in Orlando, FL. LTC D’Angelo assumes command of the 841st Transportation Battalion, North Charleston, SC on 21 May 2021.

LTC D’Angelo is the pet parent of dachshunds Charlotte (16) and Archer (10), cats Freya (4) and Arlo (6 mo) and horses Demi (26) and Ebony Bird (10). She is passionate about horseback riding as a recovery source for wounded veterans and enjoys volunteering her time and knowledge with the equine and veteran community.
