1873 Speaker Series featuring Ann Hammel '89

Ann Hammel is currently Vice President of Human Resources with Carter’s Inc., the largest branded marketer in North America of apparel and related products exclusively for babies and young children.

Ann works closely with leaders and teams throughout the entire lifecycle of talent including organizational development, talent acquisition, succession planning, executive development & coaching, and employee relations. Ann leads a team of eight with HR responsibility for Global Marketing, the Wholesale division, the Skip Hop brand, and Merchandising, Design, & Art for all Apparel brands.

Prior to Carter’s, Ann grew her HR career at Macy’s where she held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility leading to Divisional Vice President of Organizational Development. Ann began her career as a Platoon Leader in the US Army Signal Corps and holds a Bachelors of Business Administration, with a major in Marketing, from the University of North Georgia. 

Ann is married to fellow UNG graduate, Larry Hammel and they have two grown children, John and Clara. They reside in Atlanta.
