1873 Alumni Speaker Series with Dr. Jim Crupi '70

James (Jim) A. Crupi is president and founder of Strategic Leadership Solutions, Inc. Jim is a recognized authority in international business, future trends, leadership development and is an internationally popular speaker. His leadership workshops are world-renowned. Jim works with executives for the purpose of aligning strategy, enhancing productivity and competitiveness and training of management teams. Jim has been featured on CNN, Fox Business Network with Neil Cavuto, National Public Radio, served as a TED speaker and US Army War College guest lecturer and is quoted in many publications throughout the world.  

He received his B.S. degree from North Georgia College, M.S. from the University of Southern California and Ph.D. from the University of Florida. He has completed advanced work at the London Business School, Oxford University and the International Management Institute in Geneva.  

Jim has served as a consultant to the Office of the President of the United States and does work for many Fortune 1000 corporations, including Coca Cola, Turner Broadcasting Corporation, ATT, HP, Siemens, Intel, Vulcan Value Partners and IBM among others. He served as a strategic advisor to the Chief of Staff of the US Army, 2001 – 2008. Jim helped design and was an instructor at the Army Strategic Leadership Development Program for all US Army general officers and DOD Civilian Executives post 9/11 and served as a strategic advisor to the military’s global combatant commanders.  

Jim has served in the armed forces as a company commander and instructor at the elite Army Ranger School.  

He founded the Society of International Business Fellows [SIBF], a global business leadership network that spans 46 countries. He also founded the Middle East Leadership Academy [MELA], a regional business leadership network that spans 13 countries in the Middle East and serves on the following boards: University of North Georgia Foundation, Georgia Humanities Board and is a member of the MELA Founder’s Circle .  

Jim resides in Cumming, Georgia, with his wife Faye. Their daughter Shannon works in Atlanta, and their son Matthew works in Dallas.
