1873 Speaker Series with Dr. Robin Davis Jones

Dr. Robin Davis Jones, UNG ’96, is the Assistant Vice President for Student Services for Virginia Tech’s Innovation Campus located in the greater Washington, D.C., metro area. She comes to this position after serving as Assistant Provost for Planning and Resource Management in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost where her focus was on providing strategic leadership efforts related to the Innovation Campus. Prior to her role as Assistant Provost, Robin worked on the executive leadership team in the division of student affairs where she oversaw the office of the vice president as well as central administrative services including assessment, human resources, professional development, finance and compliance. At previous institutions, she served in other student affairs specific positions, such as academic advising, student unions and activities, student leadership, Title IX, student conduct and advocacy, recreation and wellness, enrollment management and diversity and inclusion. She has a track record of success in creating and supporting learning environments that are student-centric, scholarly, professional and dynamic.

Robin is a member of Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA), College Student Educators International (ACPA), Society for College and University Planning and holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama. She has advanced degrees from the University of Central Texas and Georgia Southern University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of North Georgia. She proudly served in an active-duty military family until her husband’s retirement in 2016 and continues to stay connected to the military community and to UNG. She is married to Tombo Jones, UNG ’95, and they have two daughters, Caroline (UNG ’24) and Audrey Kate.
