1873 Alumni Speaker Series with George Orlin '14

George Orlin is an Atlanta-based entrepreneur, technologist, and writer who has been engaged with the fast-paced world of startup businesses since before his graduation from the University of North Georgia where he co-founded a software startup with a fraternity brother. While at UNG, George led a community of over 800 Greek students as the Interfraternity Council President. During this time, George was also deeply involved with several non-profit organizations including No One Alone and Habit for Humanity.

Since graduating with an undergraduate BBA degree in Finance from the Mike Cottrell College of Business in 2014, he has founded several additional companies, worked alongside internationally recognized thought leaders and innovators, and partnered with several Fortune 500 companies to implement disruptive and impactful software. He balanced his time between being the Chief Operating Officer for Intelligent Transactions, a boutique management consulting firm, and serving as the Board Chair for Family Promise of North Fulton/Dekalb, an Atlanta non-profit that assists local families facing situational homelessness.

Currently, George is serving as a Product Manager for Facebook where he drives strategy and execution for a range of key video products including Messenger Rooms, Facebook Live, and Instagram Video Chat.
