 Dawn is the former Vice President of Network Services, WarnerMedia Technical Operations. As a 30-year entertainment media expert, she was responsible for the strategic partnership between Network Technical Operations and the many WarnerMedia brands including HBO, WB, TNT, TBS, TruTV, TCM, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Turner Sports. Dawn’s area of expertise incorporated connecting brand strategies with the technology organization, discovering synergies that pushed innovation and collaboration across linear, digital and social platforms. Additionally, Dawn led a data insights team that provided executive level strategic direction for overall efficiency and productivity. 

Her WarnerMedia career began in 1990 working in sports production, studio operations, remote technical operations and ad sales. Throughout her tenure, Dawn contributed to many high-profile live productions spanning various leagues including NBA, MLB, NCAA, NASCAR, USOC, PGA earning her multiple Emmy recognitions, specifically for TNT’s Inside the NBA. Discovering the value of collaboration between monetization and creativity, Dawn partnered with key sponsors to provide solutions that were valuable and innovative. Her career highpoints have included significant events such as Wimbledon, the ’92, ’94 and ’98 Winter Olympics and multiple award-winning entertainment original productions.

Mentoring and networking have been integral in Dawn’s professional growth. She actively served as an Executive Mentor for 10 years where she championed allyship and inclusion. Her commitment to empowering women in the workplace led Dawn to participate on several boards such as The WICT Network: Southeast and Turner Women as a charter member.

Dawn earned a Bachelor of Business Administration - Marketing degree from the University of North Georgia in 1988 and later completed executive MBA coursework in finance from Georgia State University.  She is married to fellow UNG graduate, John Simonton ’86, and they have two adult children, Adam and Callie and two fur babies, Daisy and Buddy.
