1873 Speaker Series - Sofia Bork '12

Sofia Bork is employed with Truist in the Treasury Solutions Department as a Readiness Specialist. She leads the Truist HOPE (Hispanic Organization Promoting Engagement) Teammate Network as the Georgia Regional Co-Chair and serves at the national level as the Co-Chair of Volunteerism and Events. Sofia is also a 2019 and 2020 recipient of the “50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia” award, presented by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to civic leaders in their communities. She also received the Park Pride 2020 “Inspiration Award” for her efforts in creating equitable and accessible greenspace. 

Sofia currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Park Pride and the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership (AB-67). She is a graduate of the 2019 LEAD Atlanta class. Currently, she serves as the Community Engagement Director for the Sara J. Gonzalez Park and is the Founder of the Edgar Flores Memorial Latinx Ethnobotanical Garden in the Sara J. González Park. With a passion for local politics, she currently serves on Andre Dicken’s Young Professional Committee in Andre’s campaign for Atlanta Mayor. She also sits on the Diversity Committee on Brandon Goldberg’s 2021 Campaign for Atlanta City Council, Post 1 At Large. 

She is an alumna of the Catholic Charities of Atlanta 2015 Leadership Class and is the Emcee for the current 2022 leadership class. Sofia serves on the Executive Board of the AJC (American Jewish Committee) ACCESS group and is the Vice Chair of Interethnic Affairs. She is an advisory board member for the Georgia Latino Law Foundation. With a passion for communication, Sofia has her Bachelors in English Writing and Publication from the University of North Georgia and minored in Spanish. 

Sofia is passionate about helping others foster their personal growth and development in the professional world and enjoys building authentic and meaningful relationships within the community.
