Dr. Wilson Pierce ’17, ’24
Wilson is a two-time graduate from the University of North Georgia. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017 and his Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2024. During his time at UNG, he enjoyed working with recreational sports as an intramural sports official and supervisor. He attributes some of his success in his current role to what he learned as an official including patients, conduct management and resolution, and creating relationships.
Wilson also has a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Arizona State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of West Georgia. Wilson currently lives in Athens with his wife, Rachael and soon to be son, Amos. Wilson has accomplished a lot in his short six-year nursing career. He has worked for UNG as a clinical instructor, worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite as an ED nurse, worked at Peachford Behavioral Health, and as the nurse educator for the ED at NGMC. He currently works as the emergency department nurse manager at NGMC Gainesville, leading a team of almost 200 employees in the 84-bed level 1 trauma center. In his free time Wilson enjoys watching the Atlanta Braves play, traveling, and spending time with friends and their families. Wilson is was awarded the Emergency Nurses Association Top 20 under 40 honor, making him a two-time 20 Under 40 program honree.
