Support the LeeAnn Noble ’15 Memorial Scholarship
Sister LeeAnn Noble ‘15 passed during her junior year, as the result of a cardiac event. Every year a student-athlete and a nursing student are awarded $1,000 each from the LeeAnn Noble scholarship.
About LeeAnn Noble
LeeAnn joined the sorority during her Sophomore year. She was a nursing major and excelled as a member of the UNG golf team. She received the Outstanding Freshman award from the Chemistry department. Having received a heart transplant in 2006, LeeAnn was an advocate for organ donation. Spring semester of 2014 LeeAnn sustained a cardiac event during her junior year which resulted in neurological injury and medical instability; several weeks later she passed on March 10, 2014.
Sigma Kappa sisters have the opportunity to honor our sister and donate to the LeeAnn Noble Memorial Scholarship.

NYC Pre-Concert Dinner
The University of North Georgia Foundation invites you to join them on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 8 PM EST at Carnegie Hall for the Crown Mountain Trio.
Faculty and instructors at UNG, the Trio is made up of Miya Suen, piano, Yeasol Kang, violin, and Dr. Philip Snyder, cello. The trio formed in December of 2023, and recently won an international music competition, resulting in a performance in Carnegie this past March.
They are returning to perform a full concert at Carnegie in October and are excited to present music with a wide variety of styles. Their concert will include the lush Romanticism of the late 19th century with Anton Arensky’s Piano trio in D minor, an eccentric and jazzy masterpiece by Nikolai Kapustin written in the late 20th century, and a world premiere of a work composed specifically for the Crown Mountain Trio by composer Xing Yu. The Trio is thankful for the generous support from UNG!

1873 Alumni Speaker Series - Josh Sprayberry ‘07
Josh Sprayberry graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Georgia College and State University in 2007 and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2011 founding his own firm in 2012. His practice served clients in the Construction, Manufacturing, and Real Estate Development industries. Josh spent a substantial amount of time working with owners on business strategy to grow and improve their companies which led to several successful exits to private equity groups and publicly traded companies. After building one of the larger CPA firms in South Atlanta, Josh decided in 2019 to merge the accounting firm with another practice to embrace his entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2019, Josh and his wife Lauren began the process of converting a 40-year-old gas station and strip center into a Full-Service Marina on Lake Oconee now known as Anchors Marina. The facility provides storage for almost 300 boaters and offers boat rentals, fuel, and service. In 2022, Anchors Marina expanded to Lake Sinclair with the acquisition and re-development of Bass Boat House and assemblage of 16 acres to build new marina facilities, a restaurant, and future mixed-use development offerings. Honorary Coordinator Mike “Coach” Hyams established the
orientation program for incoming students in 1973.
Please Donate to the Dean Mike Hyams Emerging Leader Scholarship
The Dean Mike Hyams Emerging Leader Scholarship was established to honor Dean Hyams for his 28 years of outstanding service as the Dean of Students at the Dahlonega campus of the University of North Georgia (UNG). This scholarship recognizes an outstanding student leader who exemplifies the qualities most admired and respected in Dean Hyams: Dedication, Enthusiasm, and Integrity. The recipient of this scholarship is recognized at the annual Alumni Awards Banquet.
The need for this scholarship arises from the desire to support and encourage student leaders who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills in some aspect of campus life. The scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students who have completed at least their second term at UNG and are in their senior year. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must provide evidence of their leadership involvement on the Dahlonega campus.
Dean Mike Hyams dedicated his career to supporting and empowering students at UNG. whether through INTRO (orientation program), leadership rope course at Pine Valley or personal encounters, Dean Hyams had the innate ability to encourage students to take risks and fulfill their true potential. Throughout his tenure as the Dean of Students, he became a mentor, advocate, and role model for countless students. He gave students a voice and empowered the SGA to its highest level. His unwavering commitment to student success and his ability to inspire others to become leaders make him an exceptional individual deserving of recognition.
By awarding this scholarship, we are not only recognizing the outstanding achievements of a student leader but also investing in their future success. The recipient of this scholarship will receive a monetary award that can be used towards educational expenses or other needs that will support their continued growth and development.
The Dean Mike Hyams Emerging Leader Scholarship serves as a testament to the importance of student leadership on campus. Student leaders play a pivotal role in shaping the UNG community, fostering a sense of belonging, and inspiring others to pursue their passions and make a positive impact. By recognizing and supporting these emerging leaders, we are investing in the future of our campus and ensuring that the legacy of Dean Hyams continues to thrive.
