Together they have grown Deep Roots into one of the largest landscape companies in Hall and surrounding counties, with close to 80 employees throughout the peak season and serving thousands of customers.
Deep Roots is a full-service landscape company focusing on serving others by providing high quality and professional services. Deep Roots is a member of the Urban Ag Council and the National Association of Landscape Professionals. Ben and John also own Canopy Tree and Land Company, a sister company to Deep Roots, which provides tree services and land development. The companies have numerous charitable organizations and partnerships which they actively give to and participate in. Ben married his wife Caroline, also a UNG alumnus, in 2014, and they have two children, Thomas (5) and Hope (3). He enjoys fishing, hunting, going to the lake with his family, traveling with his wife and playing with the kids. They are members of Creekstone Church in Dahlonega and are active with their small group. Ben is a graduate of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Hall County Program and served on the Youth Leadership Hall County PAC team from 2019 – 2022.
In 2023, Caroline and Ben founded the non-profit organization Hope for Hall. Hope for Hall’s mission is to normalize disability through play, education, and technology. Hope for Hall raised over $800,000 in a few short months through the generosity of the community and has begun construction on Hall County’s first ever inclusive playground at Wauka Mountain Elementary. The new inclusive playground is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. This playground is groundbreaking and will provide all children with all abilities a place to play and learn together. The goal for Hope for Hall is to one day have an inclusive playground at every elementary school in Hall County.
