Ashleigh Isaacson

Originally from Texas, Ashleigh graduated from North Georgia College & State University in 2012 as a Distinguished Military Graduate, commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in criminal justice and a minor in leadership. Upon completing her Basic Officer Leaders Course, she deployed to Afghanistan with the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team from 2013-2014. During her deployment, she was notably awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Army Commendation Medal for her actions and service.

After returning home, Ashleigh continued her service through the Georgia Army National Guard while also gaining employment as a Special Agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Early on as a Special Agent, she was assigned to the Regional Field Office in Athens, Georgia. There, she primarily investigated violent felony crimes. After a few years, she transferred to the GBI Appalachian Regional Drug Task Force where she worked on many large-scale narcotics investigations alongside various federal agencies. She has since transferred back to the Athens area where she fills the specialty role of being a Regional Gang Specialist, primarily working cases against violent criminal street gangs. She is a proud board member of the Georgia Gang Investigator’s Association, holding the position of the Eastern Regional Vice President, serving 26 counties. Additionally, she serves on the faculty for gang cases with the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia and plans to get her master’s degree through the Command College before attending the FBI National Academy.

Ashleigh is a GBI Field Training Agent, an instructor, and a member of the GBI Special Enforcement (SWAT) Team. She has been nominated for the GBI Deputy Director’s Award for her work on multiple cases. She spends a great deal of time attending community events as a representative of the GBI and loves being active in the community, specifically mentoring young children. Ashleigh resigned her commission with the Georgia Army National Guard in June of 2020, ending her 13-year career with the rank of Captain. She is a member of the University of North Georgia Alumni Association, the North Georgia Corps of Cadets Association, and the Women of University of North Georgia. She is a supporter of the Weston Lee Memorial Scholarship, in honor of her fallen friend and fellow alumni. Ashleigh is happily married, and she loves doing anything outdoors, attending Braves games, seeing live music, and traveling every chance she gets.
