Charlie Barrett
Charlie Barrett earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of North Georgia, beginning his college career as a dual-enrolled Senior at North Hall High School. During his time at UNG, Charlie served as President of the Student Government Association in 2017, participated in the Georgia Legislative Internship Program (GLIP) in 2018 and interned in the Office of Congressman Doug Collins until his graduation in 2019. He credits the University of North Georgia with providing the many opportunities that opened the door to the world of Georgia Politics.
Charlie Barrett currently serves as Chief of Staff to Georgia Senate President Pro Tempore John F. Kennedy. In this role, Charlie assists Georgia's 56 Senators by overseeing a wide variety of legislative operations inside the chamber. A veteran operative of many statewide and congressional campaigns, Charlie often points to the leadership values taught at the University of North Georgia as a catalyst for his career success. Additionally, Charlie is the owner and operator of a small carpet cleaning business located in Dahlonega, GA which he started as a student at UNG. Charlie and his lovely wife Haley Barrett, live on a small farm in North Hall County.
