Dr. L. Michelle Seawright
Dr. L. Michelle Seawright is a board-certified Family Medicine physician from Hartwell, GA. She graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a BS in Biology and Minor in Chemistry in 2009. She completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, TN in 2013. She was commissioned into the United States Navy while in medical school and completed her Family Medicine residency at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC in 2016. From there, she served as staff physician at Naval Branch Health Clinic Kings Bay for 4 years in Kings Bay, GA. She achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander and served a total of 7 years active United States Naval service.
After her Naval service, Dr. Seawright practiced in a traditional private practice. She felt seeing 25+ patients daily was neither sustainable nor safe for patient care. She discovered a practice model called Direct Primary Care (DPC) in which patients pay a low monthly membership fee to the practice and in return, they receive ultimate comprehensive primary care, wholesale lab and prescription pricing, and direct phone number to contact the doctor. She opened her DPC practice, Whole Hart Wellness, in 2022 with a partner, fellow Nurse Practitioner Brittany Lewis. In the first year of practice, Dr. Seawright and Brittany were able to donate $1000 in a scholarship for a local high school graduate. Dr. Seawright serves her local community not only as a physician, but as a member of the Rotary Club International, is a Board Member of Hart Life Pregnancy Care Center, and Member of American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Seawright is married and has a four-year-old son. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside, kayaking, hiking, and riding her Peloton bike.
