Ashley Dodd Jones followed in her mother’s footsteps by attending the University of North Georgia. Here she pursued her passion for education, earning her Bachelor’s Degree with a dual concentration in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. This was a pivotal moment in her life, as it marked the beginning of her journey towards becoming an educator who would touch the lives of countless students.

In August 2011, Ashley’s teaching career officially began when she joined the faculty at Centennial Arts Academy in Gainesville, GA as a 5th grade teacher. Ashley has remained at Centennial Arts Academy for 14 years where she has served as a 5th grade teacher, 3rd-5th grade Interrelated Special Education teacher, and is currently the K-5 S.T.E.A.M. activity teacher. Ashley continues to pour her heart and soul into her work. Since beginning her teaching career, Ashley has earned numerous awards and recognitions including the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year, 2018-2019 Hero of the Herd, and being a member of the District’s Technology Advisory Board. She currently serves on Centennial's Governance Council and Leadership Team as well as a Gainesville City Schools Communication Liaison. She serves as a mentor teacher for College of Education students as well as Early Childhood Pathway students from Gainesville High School.

Ashley is deeply committed to both the field of education and her alma mater. Beyond her work as an educator, she has actively served on the university’s Young Alumni Board, contributing to initiatives that support the next generation of graduates. Additionally, she has had the privilege of serving as a chapter advisor for Alpha Gamma Delta, where she guides and mentors sorority members on campus. In recognition of this work, Ashley was honored with the Panhellenic community's Advisor of the Year award in 2023, a testament to her dedication to fostering leadership and service among students
