Beau Hughes ’16
Beau Hughes is a State-licensed Residential-Light Commercial Contractor, EarthCraft builder, and the owner of Appalachian Contracting Services in Dahlonega, Georgia. Beau’s professional journey led him to join Appalachian Contracting Services in 2019. Demonstrating his passion and leadership in the construction industry, he became the owner and President of the company January 1st, 2023. Under Beau's leadership, Appalachian Contracting has continued its 36-year tradition of delivering high-quality construction services throughout North Georgia, with a focus on residential and light commercial projects. His commitment to craftsmanship, integrity, and client satisfaction has earned him a reputation for reliability and excellence in the community.
A 2016 graduate of the University of North Georgia (UNG), Beau fell in love with Dahlonega during his time at the university. After graduating, he and his wife Rachel—also a UNG alumna—decided to settle in the area to raise their two sons, Teddy and Callum.
Beau’s commitment to his community extends beyond his business. He is an active member of the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce, a supporter of the Community Helping Place, and collaborates with Lumpkin County High School’s work-based learning program to help train the next generation of tradesmen. He is also an active member of Christ Family Church in Dahlonega. Outside of work, Beau enjoys spending quality time with his family and exploring the outdoors through hiking, camping, and running.
