Sofia Marie Aun

Sofia Aun is employed with Truist as the Community Affairs Manager for the Georgia region. She leads grant making from the local allocation of the Truist Foundation and the Trusteed Foundations in Greater Atlanta/Northern Georgia, by meeting with community organizations to identify needs and driving collective impact internally. She is also the liaison for Truist Government Affairs activities in Georgia. Sofia leads the Truist Juntos Teammate Network as the National Co-Chair of Volunteerism and Events. Sofia is also a 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 recipient of the “50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia” award, presented by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to Latino civic leaders statewide. She is a 2022 recipient of the Outstanding Atlanta Award, the Atlanta Business Chronicle 2022 “40 Under 40” award and a member of the Leadership Georgia class of 2023. She also received the Park Pride 2020 “Inspiration Award” for her efforts in creating equitable and accessible greenspace. Sofia currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and is a member of their Government Affairs Committee.

She serves on the Board of Directors for Park Pride, the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership (AB-67) and the Historic Oakland Cemetery Foundation. She is a graduate of the 2019 LEAD Atlanta class and is a Co-Chair for Community Engagement for the LEAD Atlanta Class of 2024. She formerly served as the Community Engagement Director for the Sara J. Gonzalez Park and is the Founder of the Edgar Flores Memorial Latinx Ethnobotanical Garden in the Sara J. González Park. With a passion for local politics, she served on the Transition Team for Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and formerly served as the Director of Latinx Strategy for Mayor Dickens’ 2021 Mayoral Campaign and was a member of his Young Professional Committee and later served on his Inauguration Committee. She also served as a member of City Council President Doug Shipman’s Latino Leaders Council and the Women for Shipman Committee.

She is an alumna of the Catholic Charities of Atlanta 2015 Leadership Class and emceed the 2021 and 2022 leadership classes. Sofia is a member of the AJC (American Jewish Committee) ACCESS Atlanta Steering Committee and serves on the Interfaith Committee. She is an advisory board member for the Georgia Latino Law Foundation. With a passion for communication, Sofia has her Bachelors in English Writing and Publication from the University of North Georgia and Minored in Spanish. Sofia is passionate about helping others foster their personal growth and development in the professional world and enjoys building authentic and meaningful relationships within the community. She loves spending time with her husband, baby nephews and large Colombian family.
